Sterling College is one of only a few academic programs combining academic courses in draft horse management with real farming and logging experiences. Courses include Foundations in Draft Horse Management, Draft Horse I: An Introduction to Driving Principles, Draft Horse II: Work Applications, Agriculture Power Systems (featuring a working example of using horses along side tractors and other mechanical systems to provide traction on the farm and in the woodlot), and a proposed course in Farrier Science.
